WAVO by Pitstop Technologies Inc.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Pitstop Technologies Inc., operating as WAVO ("WAVO," "Company," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the WAVO mobile application, website, or any related services (collectively, the "Platform"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any additional guidelines or policies referenced herein.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after any modifications to these Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.
To use the Platform, you must:
You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. WAVO reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that provides false information or violates these Terms.
Mechanic accounts require a separate application process and are subject to approval by WAVO at its sole discretion. Approval may be revoked at any time.
WAVO operates as a marketplace platform connecting Customers with independent automotive Service Providers, including mobile mechanics, in-shop repair facilities, roadside assistance providers, and towing operators. WAVO does not itself perform automotive repairs, diagnostics, maintenance, roadside assistance, or towing.
Customers may submit a Booking by providing vehicle details, describing the issue, selecting a service type, and specifying a location. WAVO may use AI-powered diagnostics to assist with preliminary issue identification, but these are informational only and do not constitute professional mechanical advice.
Bookings are broadcast to eligible Mechanics in the area. A Mechanic may accept the Booking at their discretion. WAVO does not guarantee that a Mechanic will be available or will accept any particular Booking.
If no Mechanic accepts a Booking within thirty (30) minutes of submission, the Booking will be automatically cancelled and any deposit paid will be fully refunded to the original payment method.
Upon completion of services, the Mechanic will update the Booking status. The Customer acknowledges that by approving an Estimate and authorizing payment, they are authorizing the described work to be performed on their vehicle.
For diagnostic bookings, a total Diagnostic Fee of $210.00 USD applies. This fee covers the Mechanic's on-site visit and diagnostic inspection. The fee is structured as follows:
If the Customer proceeds with repairs based on the diagnostic findings, the Diagnostic Fee may be credited toward the total repair cost at the Mechanic's discretion.
WAVO charges a Service Fee for each transaction processed through the Platform. The Service Fee is non-refundable except as expressly provided in Section 7.5 (auto-cancellation for no Mechanic availability):
The Service Fee is collected once per booking at the time of the initial payment (deposit or full payment). It is not re-charged on subsequent payments within the same booking (e.g., diagnostic balance or final service payment).
WAVO Plus+ is an optional auto-renewing membership offered for $14.99 USD per month, billed through Stripe. WAVO Plus+ members receive the following benefits while their subscription is active and in good standing:
WAVO Plus+ does not include any percentage discount on parts, labor, diagnostic fees, taxes, or third-party charges. Subscriptions automatically renew each month until canceled. You may cancel at any time from the WAVO Plus+ screen in the WAVO mobile app; cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current billing period and WAVO Plus+ benefits remain available until that date. Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. WAVO Plus+ benefits apply only to the account holder and are non-transferable.
WAVO's compensation for facilitating a transaction depends on the service type and pricing model. For standard transactions, WAVO retains a commission of up to 5% of the service amount (excluding taxes and the Service Fee), deducted from the Mechanic's payout. For dynamically-priced services (such as mobile, roadside, and tow), WAVO's compensation is a marketplace margin determined by the applicable pricing model rather than a fixed percentage. In every case, WAVO's compensation is accounted for within the amounts already disclosed to each party and does not increase the total price quoted to the Customer at the time of booking.
Applicable state and local sales taxes are calculated automatically based on the service location and added to the Customer's total. Tax rates are determined by the service state and are the Customer's responsibility.
By providing your payment information and completing a transaction on the Platform, you:
Certain services may be offered at a fixed price. For fixed-price services, the total amount (including Service Fee and applicable taxes) is charged in a single payment. No deposit is required unless otherwise specified.
Some services — including mobile mechanic visits, roadside assistance, and towing — are priced dynamically. The price you are quoted may reflect factors such as vehicle type, service location, distance and travel time, time of day, day of week, current demand, urgency, and the complexity or risk of the requested work. Prices may be higher during periods of peak demand or for emergency and after-hours requests. The total price presented to you in the app at the time you confirm a Booking is the price you authorize and agree to pay for that Booking, subject to any additional work you later approve under Section 10. A quoted price is valid only for the specific Booking and time at which it is shown and may differ for future Bookings.
WAVO may facilitate towing and roadside assistance services (such as jump-starts, lockouts, fuel delivery, and tire changes) provided by independent Service Providers. Towing charges may include a base hookup fee, a per-mile rate based on the towed distance, and additional charges for special recovery, winching, oversized or duty-class vehicles, after-hours service, or storage. Any included towing benefit (for example, the first ten (10) miles for WAVO Plus+ members) applies only as expressly described; mileage and services beyond the included benefit are charged at the rates shown at the time of the request. You are responsible for providing accurate vehicle, location, and access information, and charges may increase if actual conditions differ materially from what you reported.
Estimates may include charges for parts and materials, which may be sourced from third-party suppliers. Unless a specific brand or grade is stated in the Estimate, parts may be new, aftermarket, remanufactured, or original-equipment, selected at the Service Provider's professional discretion. Part prices presented to you include any applicable markup and handling and form part of the total you authorize when you approve an Estimate. Some parts may carry a refundable core charge that is credited when the old part is returned, and certain parts (including special-order, electrical, and installed items) may be non-returnable. Manufacturer warranties on parts, where they exist, are provided by the manufacturer and are separate from any workmanship warranty offered by the Service Provider or any WAVO Plus+ repair warranty.
WAVO may require a deposit, full prepayment, or other payment assurance before a Booking is accepted or work begins. The amount and timing of any required deposit or prepayment, and whether pay-on-completion (including any cash-on-delivery option, where offered) is available to you, may depend on the service requested and on your account standing and payment history with the Platform. Authorized deposits are applied toward your total; the refundability of deposits is governed by Section 7. WAVO may decline, limit, or require additional verification for any transaction it reasonably believes presents a fraud, chargeback, or non-payment risk.
If your vehicle is towed to or left at a storage, repair, or impound location, daily storage fees may accrue until the vehicle is retrieved and all amounts owed are paid. You are responsible for paying outstanding service, towing, and storage charges before retrieving your vehicle, and for presenting any required pickup verification (such as a one-time pickup code) and proof of ownership. To the extent permitted by applicable state law, a Service Provider or storage facility may assert a possessory or statutory lien on a vehicle for unpaid services, towing, or storage, and may exercise the remedies available under that law (which can include continued storage charges and, ultimately, sale of the vehicle) if amounts remain unpaid. WAVO will provide the notices required of it by law, but the underlying lien and sale process is governed by the applicable state's lien statutes.
WAVO may offer referral codes, promotional credits, or discounts from time to time. Credits and promotions have no cash value, are non-transferable, cannot be redeemed for cash except where required by law, and may be subject to additional conditions, expiration dates, and per-account limits. WAVO may modify, suspend, or revoke any credit or promotion, and may withhold or reverse credits, where it reasonably believes they were obtained through fraud, abuse, self-referral, or violation of these Terms.
Customers may cancel a Booking at no charge under the following conditions:
In these cases, any deposit paid will be fully refunded to the original payment method.
Bookings cannot be cancelled once work has begun (status: "working") or after completion. Completed services are non-refundable except as required by applicable law.
Refunds are processed to the original payment method and may take 5-10 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your financial institution. WAVO is not responsible for delays caused by your bank or card issuer.
If a Booking is automatically cancelled due to no Mechanic availability (after 30 minutes), the full deposit and Service Fee will be refunded. If the refund cannot be processed immediately due to a temporary payment processing issue, it will be retried automatically until successful.
If you have a concern about any charge, you must first contact WAVO Support at support@gowavo.com before initiating a chargeback or dispute with your bank or credit card company. WAVO commits to responding to all billing inquiries within 48 hours. Many issues can be resolved quickly through direct communication.
By using the Platform and completing a payment, you acknowledge and agree that the following charges are authorized and legitimate:

This evidence will be submitted in response to any chargeback or dispute filed with a payment processor or financial institution.
If you file a chargeback or payment dispute for a charge that was validly authorized under these Terms, WAVO reserves the right to:
"Friendly fraud" occurs when a Customer files a chargeback for a legitimate transaction. This is treated as a violation of these Terms. WAVO actively contests all unwarranted chargebacks with full documentation and evidence of service delivery.
You acknowledge that chargeback rights provided by your card issuer are intended for unauthorized transactions and merchant fraud, not as a means to obtain free services. Filing a chargeback for services that were requested, authorized, and received may constitute fraud under applicable federal and state laws.
Mechanics using the Platform are independent contractors. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, agency, partnership, or joint venture relationship between WAVO and any Mechanic. Mechanics are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, licensing, and compliance with applicable laws.
Mechanic payouts are processed through Stripe Connect. Mechanics must complete Stripe's onboarding process, including identity verification, to receive payments. WAVO deducts its platform commission or marketplace margin and applicable fees, as described in Section 6.3, before transferring funds to the Mechanic's account.

Before performing non-diagnostic work, the Mechanic will provide an itemized Estimate through the Platform, detailing proposed services, parts, labor, and costs. The Customer must review and explicitly approve the Estimate before work begins.
If additional work is discovered during service, the Mechanic must submit a revised Estimate for Customer approval before proceeding. Payment amounts are recalculated based on the most recently approved Estimate.
By approving an Estimate, the Customer:
Tips are entirely voluntary. WAVO does not retain any portion of tips; however, tips are processed through our third-party payment provider (Stripe), and the standard payment-processing fee for the tip transaction is deducted before the remaining amount is paid out to the Mechanic. Tips are non-refundable once processed and may only be added after a Booking has been completed.
All payments on the Platform are processed by Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"). By making a payment through the Platform, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service and Stripe's Privacy Policy.
WAVO does not store, process, or have access to your full credit card numbers. All payment card data is handled directly by Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified, the highest level of certification available in the payment industry. Your card information is encrypted using industry-standard TLS encryption.
Charges will appear on your credit card or bank statement as "WAVO" or "Pitstop Technologies." If you do not recognize a charge, please contact us at support@gowavo.com before contacting your bank.
With your consent, your payment method may be saved for future transactions through Stripe's secure tokenization. You may remove saved payment methods at any time through your account settings or by contacting support.
All prices, fees, and payments on the Platform are denominated in United States Dollars (USD). If your payment method is in a different currency, your bank may apply currency conversion fees.
If a payment fails due to insufficient funds, expired cards, or other issues, WAVO may attempt to process the payment again. Continued failure to pay outstanding balances may result in account suspension and referral to collections.
Mechanics with a verified Stripe Connect account and an eligible debit card or RTP-supported bank account may, at their option, request an "instant" cash-out of their available Stripe balance instead of waiting for the standard payout schedule. Standard scheduled payouts remain free of charge.
If a mechanic chooses an instant cash-out, WAVO charges a service fee on the amount cashed out. The current fee — a percentage of the cash-out amount plus a flat per-request component, together with the minimum and maximum per-request limits — is displayed inside the WAVO mechanic app immediately before the mechanic confirms each cash-out. WAVO may adjust this fee from time to time; the fee shown at the moment of confirmation is the fee charged.
Instant payouts depend on Stripe's instant-payout network and the eligibility of the mechanic's connected payout method. If Stripe is unable to deliver an instant payout (for example, because the destination account does not support instant transfers, or because Stripe declines the request), WAVO will automatically fall back to a standard scheduled payout for the same amount, no instant fee will be charged for that request, and the mechanic's funds remain held by Stripe and will be paid out on the next standard cycle. WAVO does not guarantee the speed, availability, or success of any instant payout, and is not responsible for delays caused by Stripe, the mechanic's bank, or the mechanic's card issuer.
WAVO reserves the right to enable or disable the instant-payout feature globally or for individual mechanic accounts at any time, including (without limitation) where WAVO reasonably suspects fraud, abuse, chargeback risk, or violations of these Terms. Once an instant cash-out is confirmed by the mechanic, the request is final and the instant fee (if charged) is non-refundable, except where the cash-out itself fails and is fully reversed by Stripe.
The Platform, including its design, code, content, logos, trademarks, and all associated intellectual property, is owned by Pitstop Technologies Inc. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Platform or its content without prior written consent.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Pitstop Technologies Inc., its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from:
Before pursuing formal dispute resolution, you agree to contact WAVO at support@gowavo.com and attempt to resolve any dispute informally for at least thirty (30) days.
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Platform that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration shall be conducted in English and the arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding.
YOU AGREE THAT ANY DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROCEEDINGS WILL BE CONDUCTED ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT IN A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against WAVO.
Notwithstanding the above, either party may bring an individual action in small claims court for disputes within that court's jurisdiction.
When you provide a mobile phone number and opt in — either during sign-up after verifying your number or from your notification settings — you consent to receive transactional (non-marketing) text messages from WAVO at that number. These messages include booking confirmations, appointment reminders, and mechanic-arrival alerts related to your use of the Platform. Verification one-time passcodes and other account-security messages may be sent as needed to operate and secure your account.
Message frequency varies based on your account activity and bookings. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services. We never sell or share your mobile phone number or your SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes.
You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any WAVO text message; we will send a single confirmation message and will stop sending texts. Reply START to opt back in, or HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Standard verification and account-security messages may still be sent where required to operate your account. For more detail, see the SMS / Text Messaging section of our Privacy Policy.
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Platform, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in the Privacy Policy.
WAVO reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform, via email, or by posting the revised Terms with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
WAVO may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination:
Pitstop Technologies Inc. is a corporation incorporated in the State of Delaware, United States. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal proceedings not subject to arbitration shall be brought in the federal or state courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court or arbitrator of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional policies or guidelines expressly referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and WAVO regarding your use of the Platform and supersede all prior or contemporaneous understandings, communications, and agreements, whether written or oral, on that subject.
You may not assign or transfer these Terms, or any of your rights or obligations under them, without WAVO's prior written consent. WAVO may freely assign or transfer these Terms, in whole or in part, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets. These Terms bind and benefit the parties and their permitted successors and assigns.
WAVO's failure to enforce any provision of these Terms, or to exercise any right under them, will not constitute a waiver of that provision or right. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by WAVO to be effective, and a waiver in one instance does not waive any provision or right in any other instance.
